PATTI WHEELER grew up in Picketville, Florida. The daughter of loving parents, a truck driver always on the road and a faith-driven housewife, Patti had a rather sheltered youth. At an early age, this small town girl buried her nose in books and escaped into the sweeping sagas created by James Michner and other popular writers of the day.
 

Her love of books sparked a desire to travel and see the world. At age 20, she moved to Puerto Rico and became a flight attendant. Throughout her life, she has been an entrepreneur. In the late 1980s, she co-created “Funnays,” a clothing and product line based on popular icons like Spuds Mackenzie, Blondie and Hagar the Horrible. The company went from fledgling start-up to being publicly traded.
 

Her greatest accomplishment is that of mother to twins Gannon and Wyatt. A devoted mom, Patti’s priority has been to educate and nurture them and help the boys develop the important qualities of sharing, leadership, and compassion. 
 

For years, it has been Patti’s goal to create a children’s book series that instills the spirit of exploration in young people. Travels with Gannon & Wyatt is the realization of her dream. 
 

In addition to the book series, Patti is the founder of Claim Stake Productions, executive producer and director of the TV pilot Travels with Gannon and Wyatt: Off the Beaten Path, and co-wrote, with Keith Hemstreet, the screenplay Botswana, which was an official selection of the 2010 Beverly Hills Film Festival.
